Brooke began racing in 1961 in rally events and ice racing, driving a 1957 Austin Healy. He was also involved as a sponsor since 1985 with Oval Track Stock cars and Road Race GT cars, as well as crewing on a GT car in the SCCA TransAm series. Brooke returned to racing as driver and team owner in 2001 with the Wheat Buckley sponsored #10 Challenge Car, then sponsored the Wheat Buckley Challenge Car Series in Alberta from 2002 to 2008.
